BIRRARANGGA Film Festival is Now Accepting Donations

BIRRARANGGA Film Festival is returning in 2023. For this upcoming festival we are now accepting donations, help support BIRRARANGGA Film Festival by making a monthly or one-time donation.

BIRRARANGGA Film Festival is a not-for-profit public company that has DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient) status and is on ROCO (Register of Cultural Organisations). All donations made over $2 are fully tax deductible. Your generous donations will help to maintain the operation of Victoria's first and Australia's only Indigenous led film festival.

Our mission is to advance and promote Indigenous filmmakers by encouraging innovative ways of thinking, creating and developing all Indigenous forms of the art of Cinema. Our festival facilitates dialogue and encourages collaboration between Indigenous filmmakers and Indigenous communities in Australia and across the globe.

Our festival celebrates Global Indigenous Films that explore the curatorial themes of ‘strength, resilience and the environment’. First Nations relationships to the image as a form of expression, particularly in Australia, is connected to thousands of years of cultural practices.

This festival honours that history and acknowledges the contemporary currency of the moving image, of film, as an expression of the human experience in relation to our natural surroundings.
