'Ferguson Rises' Screening and Panel

Guest Speakers Announced

Our screening of ‘Ferguson Rises’ is coming up this Sunday! We are excited to announce our additional Speakers for the event. Joining the director Mobolaji Olambiwonnu and protagonist Michael Brown Snr on stage are Tarneen Onus and Meriki Onus who are Community Organisers for the Warriors of the Aboriginal Resistance. Also on the Panel is Veronica Gorrie, writer of the book ‘Black and Blue: A Memoir of Racism and Resilience’ which is a memoir reflecting on her Aboriginality and the time she spent in the police force.

Moderator Announced

Kimberley Benjamin will be the Moderator on Sunday. She is a filmmaker, who’s drive is to tell stories that are truthful, impactful and celebrate the strength and resilience of First Nations people. She has worked for many community organisations in Boorloo/Perth, her diverse work and passion for telling stories is informed by her connections and relationships with communities across the Country.
