A century ago, steamships were the only mean of transport for commodities and Native people navigating the Amazon river, reminiscences of the colonial traces of Fitzcarraldo and the atrocities committed during the rubber extraction in the XIX century. Cargo boats form a non-lieu, a space of transition for the travellers taking journeys that can last weeks, as well as for the Indigenous communities living on the edges of the Amazon, fighting for the survival of their traditions.
