Train
The Capitol is a five-minute walk from Flinders Street Train Station or Melbourne Central Station. 

Melbourne Central Station is also within walking distance, though it’s a bit further (around 10–12 minutes).

Tram
Swanston Street & Collins Street trams serve The Capitol Theatre.

Stop 6: Town Hall & Collins St is serviced by Routes 11, 12, 48, and 109.

Stop 11: Collins St & Swanston St is served by Routes 1, 3, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67, and 72.

Bus
The 216 or 219 bus from Queen Street in the city can take you to the Capitol. The trip takes about 30–45 minutes. 

Car
The Capitol has accessible parking spaces on Little Collins and surrounding streets, and on each level of Fed Square car park. The Capitol Square car park next door to the theater has limited allocation. Alternate parking options include Market City Car Park or Goulburn Street Parking Station.

Seating

Stalls Row WWW is a raised platform section reserved for wheelchair bookings. It offers good views of the stage and can accommodate a companion.

If you are able to transfer from a wheelchair/mobility scooter into a theatre seat you may wish to book an aisle seat in the Stalls. Our ushers will assist by storing your wheelchair and bringing it to you at interval and the end of the show. Wheelchair and mobility scooter access is easily available in the Stalls and very limited in the Dress Circle.

There is ramp access available via Door 2 or Doors 3-5 only have approx. 4 steps (with access to a handrail). There are also select seats in the Dress Circle with minimal stairs located near Door 6, if you have tickets near Door 6, you should see an usher before the show for access. Please note, most of the seats in the Dress Circle have many stairs to negotiate.

Wheelchair Access

The foyer, cinemas, and Lido Rooftop are all wheelchair accessible via a lift. The Jazz Room is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.

Lift location

When entering the Lido Arcade from Glenferrie Road, turn down the corridor on your first right. The lift is at the end, and reaches all levels. Customers may need to alert a staff member if they require access to the Lido Rooftop level. This level is typically unlocked in the evening.

Wheelchair Accessible Spaces and Companion Seating in Cinemas

Lido has four wheelchair-accessible spaces in Cinema 1, and three wheelchair spaces in Cinemas 2 to 8. All wheelchair spaces can be accessed through the back entrance (top) of the cinema.

In Cinema 1 there are four companion seats. In Cinemas 2, 3, and 5 to 8, there are three companion seats, which are positioned together as three at the end of the row. In Cinema 4, accessible seats are located together in their own small row.

Wheelchair Access

The foyer is wheelchair accessible by a ramp on the left of the front entrance. If the ramp door is closed, please ring the bell and one of our staff will be able to assist.

The cinemas are all wheelchair accessible. Cinema 2 is accessed via the ramp behind Cinema 1, off the ground-level foyer. Cinemas 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 are all accessed via the lift to level 1. Cinemas 7 to 10 are all accessible via the level 2 foyer.

Lift location

The lift is at the back centre of the foyer, straight ahead if entering from the street.

Wheelchair Accessible Spaces and Companion Seating in Cinemas

Classic has wheelchair-accessible spaces at the back of all their cinemas. There are x2 spaces in Cinemas 1 to 6, and x3 spaces in Cinemas 7 to 10. There are x2 companion seats, which are located next to wheelchair spaces, in each cinema.

Wheelchair Accessible Bathrooms

Classic Elsternwick has two wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. The first is on the ground level, towards the back of the foyer, after the entrance to Cinema 4. The second is located on level 2, which is on the left after exiting the lift.

Tram routes 109, 11, 12, and 48 have stops at Spring Street, which is very close to Kino Cinemas (about a 1–2 minute walk).

Bus

Patrons can catch lines 216, 220, 250, 302, and 605 to Kino Cinemas.

Car

Collins Place Car Park offers Kino Cinema guests free parking during the first two hours of their visit (additional rates apply after two hours). Located at 28 Flinders Lane, the Collins Place Car Park is on the right hand side of the lane, approximately 50 metres from Spring Street. Patrons must validate their parking ticket at the box office for the discount. Discount does not apply to prepaid parking.
